The Vision
Sarah and Ashraf wanted a wedding that honored their families, their culture, and their community, and felt personal from the first moment to the last. Over three days, the celebration moved from the backyard where it began to a full venue takeover.
The Details
The venue was taken over across all floors, with each level redesigned for its role in the celebration. To stretch the budget without compromising the look, I mixed custom design with thoughtfully thrifted decor, a choice that kept the design personal and the spending intentional.
My Role
Over a full year of planning, I took their vision from concept to reality, designing and producing the entire celebration with their budget and community resources in mind. I sourced, vetted, and negotiated with every vendor, then managed them through the weekend. My scope included:
Event design: lighting, set and scenic design, and decor that transformed a multi-floor music venue into a ceremony, reception, and afterparty space
Vendor management: sourcing, vetting, negotiation, and day-of coordination for all vendors including musicians, rentals, and decor
Food & beverage, venue, and hotel coordination: menus, logistics, and room blocks across the full weekend
Guest experience: concierge support for out-of-town guests
Ceremonial flow: all wedding processionals, timelines, and transitions across three days
